Hello world!

January 15th 2024

This new blog was prompted by a shared link on Mastodon. Well – one thing I know, I am not a writer ~ I am so much happier in the visual field. Any of my writing is either for clients of my design work or for my students who tell me that they enjoy reading my articles and tutorials. This makes me very happy ツ And while I wish I would feel more inclined to write than I do, I am happily going to stick with doodling and doing artwork as a creative break.

However, there are little things like that lovely site—fromjason.xyz—which I would like to make note of, or share with people ~ hence it does make sense to have a blog or notebook of sorts. And the post by Jason was just such an enjoyable read, made me reminiscent of the good ol’ days when there were so many curated blogs out there, so much to discover and share.

Read: Where have all the websites gone?

This is why this blog was created. I have no specific plans, other than use it as an extension to the handbook ~ to feature the work of some amazing designers and developers to inspire those who come across this site on their journey into web design. But I have decided to go with the flow and write some posts when the mood takes me, when topics arise which make me want to write, rant or vent in any way. Maybe I’ll write lots, maybe I won’t ~ only time will tell ツ

Update 19/03/2024

Reading this wonderful post by Jeremy Keith whose eloquent writing style I love has greatly boosted my resolve. To write as I like and not worry about anything other than making note of my thoughts.
What the world needs.

So, yeah, it’s true that the world doesn’t need you to write and share and publish. Isn’t that liberating? You’re free to write and share and publish for yourself.

To anyone pondering yet hesitating to get started – I would highly recommend that you read that post. Maybe it’ll inspire you to write, publish and share. It can be liberating ツ
